I learned about the Babaylan upon moving home to the Bay Area in 2011. Leny Mendoza had just coordinated the first homecoming in Santa Rosa in 2010. I heard my spirit called home. I had no idea about the profound challenges and changes my daughters and I would be going through as our united rite of passage. I'll be adding to this particular journal/blog entry over time, like the many parts of this tree of life. My mother is one of 16 with 8 sisters and 7 brothers.
